Another heavy weekend. Recovering now. Ended up playing the most random show ever in North London on Sunday evening, it was fun. Jay (Beans On Toast) and I got halfway through writing a duet entitled "Blowing Up Seagulls with Alkaseltzer" but had to give up after a protracted debate about whether or not seagulls were rats with wings. Winchester tonight, a hometown show! Looking forward to it.
The Forum in the title of this post is in Tunbridge Wells. Some kid is suing the venue and they're having trouble keeping their heads above water. It's a fucking great place, played some cool shows there, and I actually have another coming up on March 25th. There's more info on the story here, go check it out. There should be some kind of benefit festival in the summer too.
I spent Valentine's Day in Ipswich - there's a song title if ever there was one.
UPDATE: contrary to ben thinking he's a genius (see comments), someone IS actually trying to sue the forum, the article's a little out of date. They broke their leg at a Raging Speedhorn show last year.

honestley francis, do read the article first... someone isn't suing the forum, they are having to raize their prices so that they can pay for liability insurance IN CASE someone tries to sue the forum...
...pfft... a 1st eh? well that's education now days for you...
well, according to the guy from the forum who emailed me about this, someone is trying to sue them now.
Tis true. Been going on for a couple of years now. Actually quite worrying as it is a top venue and the precedent that could be set by a victory for the injured party could have grave consequences for music venues in the UK.
Valentines day in Ipwsich, there should be a million sheep jokes for this and I can't come up with one! Dammit!!
Something quite similar is happening here in ireland (*hint hint* frank) where a guy broke his leg at an obituary gig a few months back, but the venue are pushing the fact that they have a "no moshing/crowdsurfing" policy, and when he broke his leg, he had to be doing one of the above (lets face it you dont just stand there and your leg suddenly breaks!) hopefully this isnt going to become a regular thing!
Surely a flying squirrel is closer to a flying rat!!!
The Tunbridge Wells Forum is a damn fine venue, and a great use of public toilets! Played there a few times myself. Our singers uncle is friends with the guy who owns it,. I'll ask if its true, and if it is, start sorting out some sort of benefit gig.
Late june sounds good. Should be warmer.......

Some venues in Manc have smallprint on the back of tickets, stating that any injuries sustained within the venue are down to the responsibility of the person attending the gig. Maybe they should do something like that? Or maybe it's too late.
Hey Frank, just wanted to say thanks for mentioning The Forum in you're blog. i live nearby, its one of the only available music venue's in the South-East that's not London-based. i've been going there for years now (heard Million Dead for the first time there, in fact), and its an amazing venue. I can't believe someone would want to sue it at all, honestly. jus neard you're acoustic stuff on Radio one by the way, awesome stuff! will definitely see you there in april
