Voting Season Is Upon Us
The Kerrang Awards Voting Season is upon us, folks, at it'd be great if you could take time out of your busy schedules to vote me up on this one. Previous internet vote drives have seen me achieving some ridiculous stuff in life, and my recent victory over all mainstream pop on Sara Cox (or something) wasn't even solicited. So if we all pull together, who knows? You can vote here: awards.kerrang.com. I'd focus on Best British Band and Best Live Act. And while you're there, a word for the Xcerts as Best British Newcomers wouldn't go amiss either. Thanks everyone.
In other news, would the UAF please, please fuck off? As "fascist" as those they oppose, clearly. They seem to be utterly incapable of grasping the basics of what freedom means. Morons.

Saying the UAF are equivalent to the BNP is moronic.
When they start wanting to deport people you might have a point.
No Emma, the comment was they are as fascist as those which they oppose.
Any group that rely upon attacking democratically elected representatives in public rather than engage in debate are an affront to democracy.
"When they start wanting to deport people you might have a point."
Err... We already do deport people on a regular basis. Do you mean deport people on the basis of the colour of their skin? If so, go away and read the BNP manifesto, that is not what they propose.
The cause of the rise of the BNP is partially down to ignorance from people like yourself. You see a group portrayed in the media as evil and make sweeping statements based on limited or no knowledge of what you are talking about. To nip the BNP in the bud we need to tackle them, with words, in debate. They will dig themselves a hole and destroy themselves, if asked the right questions rather than just shouted down. Give them enough rope, rather than constantly trying to tell people what to think. We are not stupid, we do not need people to tell us who we can and can't vote for, we can make our own decisions based upon facts, not a bunch of middle class hoons chucking eggs. If you think that is 'political activism' then you need to grow up.
And, if those disaffected enough to vote BNP keep seeing their representatives refused their legal rights of access to the political forum, they will just get angrier and more stubborn, even more extreme. More people will be drawn to their cause and the BNP will become stronger BECAUSE of groups such as UAF. Take a look at Nick Griffin thanking the UAF on facebook after Monday's shenanigans. Whether that was genuine or not is besides the point, the BNP would have loved Monday, as it gave them publicity, made them look like the victim, made them look the respectable non-violent party to the event. Without them having to say a word, which is exactly what they want - the longer they can hide their real thoughts the more moderate voter they can draw across. Good work UAF.
