The Road - Out Now!

What a weekend, what a way to finish off my summer. Kingston and Edinburgh were great, and then Reading and Leeds were simply immense. Biggest shows I've ever played, and they were fantastic. Thanks a million to anyone who made it down for my set. I celebrated in style afterwards (ended up drinking in a hotel bar with Steve Lamacq until about 5am) and am still in recovery now, which seems about right really. I now have a few days to gather my thoughts, do some laundry and so on, before hitting Berlin, then Jersey, then Los Angeles.

The big news this week is that The Road is out now as a download single! For a mere £1.79 you get the song, the video and two exclusive b-sides, which seems like a pretty decent deal to me. So, head to iTunes, 7 Digital and the like, and get shopping! It's exciting that this stuff is actually happening now. The album is out next Monday as well. Exciting times.

More news later this week, when my head stops hurting quite so badly.

Had a great time at Reading and loved your set. Was really surprised to see so many people as I thought I had found something new when I "discovered" you by hearing The Road on Radio One about a month ago. Seems I am very behind the times. Looking forward to the new album and hopefully catching you on tour next month. Feel better soon :)

Well Frank another top weekend and it was nice to see you pulling in more punters than many of the bigger bands. So, main stage next year i think!

ps a bit more vocal volume at Leeds would have been better, needed to hear more Frank! :)

Agreed, a fantastic end to August - am refusing to say it's the end of the summer just yet! Was good to get two Frank sets for the price of one, and thanks for letting me grab you for an interview afterwards as well (I was the one reminiscing about Reading '95!). Hope to catch another one of your gigs soon.

You were beaaaautiful at Reading. I didn't actually know 'who you were' but I friend took me along and I was very happily surprised to find out I knew a lot of your stuff! Was the best set I saw all weekend.

I spent the entire drive home hoping they would play The Road on Radio 1. Alas, they did not so I guess I'll just have to go get the single!

Also. Manchester? SOLD OUT? ALREADY? How unfair is that! More gigs please.

Hi Frank
I have to be honest and admit that I was only in the Radio One tent at Reading during your set waiting for Metronomy to come on after but wow, your set was amazing. I didn't think I would come away from Reading with a set of an artist that I had never heard of before being one of my favourites, but yours definately came in to my top 5 for the whole weekend. When I got home on Monday, I downloaded your album almost straight away (from iTunes, paid for! - I agree with all your points about the music downloading too by the way) and have been listening to it non-stop ever since. Especially 'Long Live The Queen'. An amazing song.. keep up the good work. Hope to see you soon again at one of your own gigs. Your music just makes me smile.

Both times I heard you sing 'long live the queen' I actually welled up (quite embarassing!) I also dragged one of my friends along and she's a newly converted fan too! See you at your nottingham gig, keep up the good work, you're a legend! x
